"Useless Chatter"

I find it funny to look back 
and forget just what I'm looking at 
was it a joke, or maybe  a song? 
or even a love poem sadly gone wrong? 

Could it be a mystery? 
or is it when I felt 
pure and total misery 
When my heart would melt? 

Something meant to be serious? 
funny, I can't seem to remember 
was I temporarily delirious? 
'95, yesterday, or last November? 

it really shouldn't matter 
but it meant something back then 
Just useless written chatter 
I wish I'd remember when . . .
