"Two Deaths"

To die a leaf
Holding breath til red 
for the glorious letting go  
To take the invitation of the wind to fly 
A bang of color  
To join in a fireworks display of trees  
To wait for a cool ripe breeze  
To escape,
to float
to laugh at winter 
who will never take you alive.
